Why do we like this?
Calling it now, Nottingham’s four-piece band, Divorce, is one to watch in 2023.
Simply put, Divorce puts you in an entirely different frame of mind. “Checking Out” is unhinged, beautifully unfolding like a John Darnielle novel or even a bad car accident you can’t peel your eyes away from on your way home from work. And it’s not your typical folk punk song either, it’s got grit and gumption, and just makes you want to live inside it, even if it’s inspired by a failing relationship.
If you’ve got 15 minutes to spare, honestly just put the whole damn EP,Get Mean, on — you won’t regret it. Bonus points if your parents or you are divorced!
