In the US, a new party was created as an alternative to the Republicans and Democrats

Former members of the US's two main parties, the Republican and the Democratic, have created a new political group that they hope will become a third party in the country's political system. (Forward), which was created by dozens of former officials— It will be led by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang and former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman.

They told the agency that they hoped the centrist Forward become a viable alternative to the two main US parties. The party, they say, will appeal to those voters who are alarmed by what they see as America's “failed two-party system.” The co-founders cite last year's Gallup poll, which found that a record two-thirds of Americans believe a third party is needed in the US political system.
