Russia approved the list of regions belonging to the Far North

The previous version of the list has been in effect since 1983 and was outdated, but now the government has updated the list. For all territories that now have this status, it remains, as well as benefits for residents

An updated list of regions of the Far North and equivalent territories has been approved, the government’s press service reported on the Telegram channel.

'From a geographic point of view, the list has not changed. Residents of all territories that were included in the previous editions of the list will continue to receive benefits, state guarantees and compensations due to them, '' & mdash; the message says.

The list of territories of the Far North entirely includes:

  • Yakutia,
  • Magadan Region,
  • Murmansk Region,
  • Nenets Autonomous Okrug,
  • Chukotka,
  • Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug,
  • Kamchatka Territory.

In addition, certain districts of some other regions received this status, including parts of the republics of Altai, Buryatia, Karelia, Komi, Tyva, Transbaikal, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk Perm, Primorsky Territories, Amur, Arkhangelsk, Irkutsk, Sakhalin, Tomsk, Tyumen regions, Khanty -Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.

The list of regions of the Far North and localities equated to the regions of the Far North was approved back in the Soviet era, in 1983. Since then, many changes have been made to this list. In addition, there were inaccuracies in the administrative-territorial division & mdash; for example, there were regulations that referred to such territories the Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug, which was liquidated and included in the Perm Territory back in 2005. Therefore, the government decided to unify the list and create an updated list. Some of the outdated regulations in this area were canceled by Vladimir Putin's decree on November 15.

Benefits in the Far North and those equated to them imply, in particular, early retirement, additional leave, wage increases, 36- an hour's working week for women and reimbursement of expenses when moving to the place of residence after the termination of work.
