Jay-Z & Kanye West’s “Ni***s In Paris” Now 8x Platinum, Inches Toward Diamond Status

American rappers Jay-Z and Kanye Wests’ 2011 hit “Ni**as in Paris” is now 8X platinum.

The song is from the artists’ collaborative album Watch the Throne. The song debuted at number 75 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and eventually peaked at number 5. In Australia, the song is currently at 2X platinum with 140,000 sales, while the single is certified Platinum in Belgium with 15,000 sales.

On top of its impressive numbers, the song also earned Ye and Jay Grammy awards for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song at the 55th Grammy awards in 2013. Now, its’ latest achievement being the 8x platinum certification in the United States through the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the single has racked up a whopping eight million in sales.

“Ni**as in Paris” in its radio version called “Fellas in Paris” has received close to 315 million views on YouTube. The album from which it stems, Watch the Throne, was released through Roc-A-Fella Records, Def Jam Recordings, and Roc Nation. Chart Data confirmed the news via Twitter that the song surpassed 8 million units in the United States and inches towards joining the diamond club.

The duo released a total of seven singles to get fans ready for the album’s release. “Otis,” “Lift Off,” “No Church In the Wild,” “H.A.M,” and as noted “Ni**as in Paris,” we’re also all blessed with music videos.

This was not the first time Jay-Z and Kanye West collaborated, as they had worked together on various singles before the album’s release.

It is reported that an album was not what the two had planned, but instead, they wanted to produce a five-song EP together. The album features other major artists, including Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce, Frank Ocean, Connie Mitchell, The Dream, Mr. Hudson, and Charlie Wilson.

Eminem Creates Billboard History With “Curtain Call: The Hits”

Eminem’s old music is still creating chart history.

Eminem has been at the center of many controversies over the years. Fans are divided on his greatness in the rap genre, but his indelible mark has already been made, and his name will always be called in those considered the greatest to ever spit rhymes. He seemed destined for greatness from his first major-label released album, “The Slim Shady LP,” in 1996, and he didn’t disappoint over the years.

His greatest hits collection, called “Curtain Call: The Hits,” which he dropped in 2005, has already been certified 7x-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and not surprisingly so since it’s a collection of his top tracks like “Lose Yourself “and “Guilty Conscience” featuring veteran rap mogul Dr. Dre. Following the release of the 17-track project, it easily occupied the top spot on the Billboard 200.

Now comes news that the album has created Billboard history as, according to Forbes, it is now the first Hip Hop record to spend a full decade on the Billboard 200. Another report from Chart Data confirmed that “Curtain Call” had reached a whopping 520 weeks on the latest chart dated March 27.

The album joins the top 10 of others to do well. The list includes some major names in music like Bob Marley and the Wailers’ “Legend,” which stayed on the charts for 669 weeks. Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon holds the record with 958 weeks. “Curtain Call” is number six on the list.

By now, the “Rap God” singer is used to smashing records as last January 2020, he became the first artist to have ten consecutive number-one debut albums on the Billboard 200. That album “Music To Be Murdered” would go on to sell close to 300,000 total album-equivalent units in its opening week. The 48-year-old doesn’t really show any signs of slowing down, and why would he, considering he has 13 No. 1 singles and 15 Grammy Awards and still flows as fast as when he was a young rapper.

Rihanna Dangles New Music In Front Of Fans & Hints At End Of “ANTI” Era

Rihanna drops some hints she might be releasing a new song.

While Rihanna has been very active as a businesswoman and fashion mogul over the past few years, she has been mostly MIA as a recording artist. Her last album, ANTI, was released way back in 2016, which feels like a decade ago following the madness of 2020. Since then, Rih has only occasionally popped up as a feature on other people’s songs, such as her appearance on PartyNextDoor’s track “Believe It,” which dropped in March of last year. Of course, RiRi fans are not at all satisfied by a few features and instead have been demanding a full-length album from the singer for years now.

The good news is that while a Rihanna album doesn’t seem to be on the horizon anytime soon, the singer did tease fans this week by suggesting that she may be releasing a new single soon. Excitement built surrounding the prospect of a new track from the Barbados beauty after Rih shared a post from Chart Data about her ANTI album.

The post announced that ANTI has now spent “5 full years on the Billboard 200” and that the project is the “first album by a Black female artist to reach the milestone.” Rihanna captioned her post, saying, “grateful to the most High for putting die hard supporters in my circle #ANTI #WomensHistoryMonth.”

One follower responded to the news in typical Navy fashion by asking for new music. “Celebrate by releasing a song!!” the user suggested. Surprisingly, Rih answered back with a reply that put hope in the hearts of Rihanna fans everywhere.

“I think I should,” RiRi replied. She then added a cruel condition to the deal, saying, “just 1 tho lol”. The post has everyone praying that Rihanna isn’t just leading us on, but only time will tell if a new song is really on its way to our playlists or if the singer is doing what she is known for and breaking everybody’s hearts.
