Lil Nas X Praised For HIV Advocacy At VMAs, Cops ‘Video Of The Year’ Award

Lil Nas X is getting praised for his HIV advocasy at the 2021 MTV VMAs last night after a powerful performance and picking up the award for Video of the Year.

The young artist carried away one of the biggest prizes at the MTV Video Music Awards – Video of the Year for his controversial single “Montero Call me by your name).”

Since releasing the video, Lil Nas X has been one of the most talked-about rappers, particularly for coming out as gay. On Sunday night, he rocked a suit with a trail that wowed his fans, and no doubt sent his critics frothing at the mouth for his outright expressions.

The artist also had one of the best performances on the Barclays Center stage as he paid tribute to those living with HIV.

His performance saw him giving fans pink MONTERO prison vibes while he had a marching band perform hit singles “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and “Industry Baby” featuring Jack Harlow.

During his performance, Southern AIDS Coalition member Mardrequs Harris joined Lil Nas X on stage as he displayed a shirt with the number 433,816, which represents the number of people in the South who are living with HIV.

Lil Nas X was commended by various advocacy groups for his highlighting the spread of HIV in the South.

“Thank you @LilNasX for your continued advocacy and commitment to supporting organizations on the ground working to end HIV! and congrats to @SouthernAIDSCo’s Mardrequs Harris,” a tweet shared by the Black AIDS Institute read after the performance.

Fans also hailed the artist for his continued advocacy for not only LGBTQ groups but also those living with HIV.

His latest success is leading into the anticipated launch of his album MONTERO, set for release on Friday (September 17). Among the acts on the album teased are Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Jack Harlow, Elton John, and Miley Cyrus.

According to insiders, his new album will continue the trend of advocacy for HIV, with each song having a named charity that fans are encouraged to donate to.

Meanwhile, the gay artist has come under heavy criticism by some in the industry for what they say is his leading young men astray. Among those calling for the rapper to be canceled for his gay explicit videos and antics are rapper Lil Boosie and political analyst Boyce D. Watkins, who accused Lil Nas X of “marketing sexual irresponsibility that’s causing young men to die from AIDS.”

However, Nas X had the perfect comeback as he lashed out at the tolerance for heterosexual promiscuity.

“Y’all be silent as hell when n**gas dedicate their entire music catalogue to rapping about sleeping with multiple women,” Nas responded. “but when i do anything remotely sexual i’m ‘being sexually irresponsible’ & ‘causing more men to die from aids’ y’all hate gay ppl and don’t hide it.”

Lil Wayne Helped DaBaby End Those “Lonely” Days: Watch

DaBaby isn’t so “Lonely” anymore now that he has Lil Wayne to back him.

DaBaby has had a rough couple of months following his expletive-filled rant at the Rolling Loud concert that included homophobic remarks and insensitive statements about the HIV/AIDS community. The rapper, who was seemingly on top of his game at the time of the controversy, has since been trying to do damage control to save his reputation and career.

DaBaby lost several upcoming gigs following the incident and is now attempting to get his fans talking about his music again instead of his onstage improvisations. Baby dropped “Lonely” on Thursday, September 9th, collaborating with one of the biggest names in hip hop to add fuel to the track.

“New single dropping today Featuring The Best Rapper Alive” Baby tweeted in a rare moment of humility before announcing that Lil Wayne was on the song. The song takes off with a dark verse from Baby, rapping, “I can use the murder for therapy/I can make the news with it, break the internet/ Have ‘em all nervous and scared of me/Then get away sneaky clean, never seen a thing”. The song is ended by Weezy who contributes a verse with mentions of loneliness, women, and fame.

Although Baby initially defended his actions at the Rolling Loud concert, suggesting that people were overreacting and that his words were taken out of context, he eventually took steps to show that he was truly sorry and willing to learn. Over 125 HIV organizations endorsed an open letter to the rapper in August asking to meet with him and educate him on the unique struggles of the HIV/AIDS community.

DaBaby did go on to meet with nine of those organizations to hear personal stories from people living with HIV. Representatives from those organizations explained that they wished to grant Baby some grace and the opportunity to change his perspective instead of choosing to cancel him immediately. Only time will tell if his fans will extend him the same grace.

DaBaby Meet With 9 HIV-Awareness Org And Properly Apologize For Offensive Comments

DaBaby is seemingly making amends for his comments at the Rolling Loud Music Festival in July that nearly got him canceled.

The rapper’s misinformed comments about the disease offended many who tried to school him. In spite of that, DaBaby had only offered a wishy-washy apology and doubled down on his stance as he trolled those who felt offended.

However, on Tuesday, the rapper met with nine HIV/ AIDS organizations and apologized for his comments.

The organizations had previously publicly called on the rapper to meet to be enlightened on the disease and how it affects people and clear up the facts that HIV/AIDS was not a disease that affected mainly gay people and was not contagious.

According to TMZ, the rapper met with the groups at a meet up organized by the U.S. HIV awareness organization where discussions were held on the virus and persons living with the disease also shared stories of living with the virus.

DaBaby, previously in his performance comments, noted that people who weren’t going to die in a matter of weeks because they have HIV or AIDS should put their lighter up.

The rapper received flack, and major damage to his brand as almost a dozen music festivals dropped him from their line-ups.

While others dragged DaBaby, others from the HIV/AIDS community called on the rapper to meet so they can help to educate him about the disease. In earlier August, the organization wrote to DaBaby “to call him in instead of calling him out” over his comments at the Rolling Loud festival.

Meanwhile, a statement released by the groups after meeting the rapper said that he was not what they expected and was “genuinely engaged” in the discussions.

DaBaby also apologized, calling his statements inaccurate and hurtful comments, and acknowledged that his comments were damaging to persons living with HIV and on black and LGBTQ+ communities.

Marnina Miller of the Southern AIDS Coalition said the rapper’s willingness to attend the meeting was a good opportunity to learn and grow from his mistakes. His attendance could set a positive example for others who may have the same misconceptions.

The other organizations represented at the meeting were the Black AIDS Institute, GLAAD, Positive Women’s Network, and Transinclusive Group.

Meanwhile, DaBaby has been slowly recovering from the Rolling Loud incident and has been appearing at events including Hot 97’s Summer Jam which initially dropped him, and Boosie Bash, along with an appearance at Kanye West’s latest “Donda” listening party in Chicago.

Ice Cube – Friday Lyrics

[Verse 1]
You know it ain’t no stoppin’ all the dogs I’m droppin’
It’s Friday night so everything is poppin’
I gots ten to spend on the Hen
So let the games begin
Yakety yak don’t talk back or it’s on
Callin’ up Earl on the car phone
Mack 10 just got out of court
Rollin’ through the hood in his super sport bumping Too $hort
Eighteens got the rear view mirrors vibratin’
And deep-dish Daytons
You know how we do it
Ain’t nothing to it but the floss
Overcrowding Harrison-Ross
‘Cause if you fuck with ours
We leave scars
Out of G-ride cars
Livin’ like stars
Might hit the highway
On the Vegas run fool ’cause it’s Friday

[Hook]
Oh yeah
Throw your neighborhood in the air
If you don’t care
Oh yeah
Throw your neighborhood in the air
If you don’t care

[Verse 2]
Standing outside on a Friday living on the edge
‘Cause we all got them hard heads
It’s seems like we all are waitin’
For a drive-by playing tag with Satan
But we chillin’, yeah, we ready and willin’
Ya hear about the latest westside killing?
Forty sippin’, set trippin’, fo’ dippin’
Pistol grippin’, neva slippin’
BGs trying to hang out
But OGs sayin’ “Take your little ass in the house”
My big homie just got out
Used to be down, now he’s just cracked out
He’s bout hard as Darth Vader
In his sweatshirt, khakis and Chuck Taylor’s
Just seen him in the driveway
Getting beat like a smoker a fool, ’cause it’s Friday

[Hook]
Oh yeah
Throw your neighborhood in the air
If you don’t care
Oh yeah
Throw your neighborhood in the air
If you don’t care
Fool

[Verse 3]
Why must I be like that and chase the cat?
Or settle for a hoodrat
Dookie braids no dreadlocks
Flyin’ in and out of town with half a chicken in her cock
And I love her, ’cause she down
To fuck around with the underground pussy hound
And her ass is big round and wide
Jacked up, make a nigga down to ride
Smoking indo, playing that Super Nintendo
Hear a rat-a-Tat-Tat on my window
Gave her ass that pelvic thrust
Don’t trust the rubber ’cause its bound to bust
In the oven, in the nappy
I had on two so I was happy
‘Cause that HIV’ll make your dick hang sideways
And that ain’t cool, fool, ’cause it’s Friday

[Hook]
Oh yeah
Throw your neighborhood in the air
If you don’t care
Oh yeah
Throw your neighborhood in the air
If you don’t care

[Outro]
Throw the West side in the air
Throw the East side in the air
Throw the South side in the air
Throw the North side in the air
Oh yeah!

HorseShoe Gang – Stress Relief (Anti-Trap Music Album) letras

[Verse 1: Julius]
Have you ever heard that Slaughterhouse song Goodbye?
When I heard that song I cried
Crooked was reminiscing on the tragic day when his uncle passed away
If Crooked was sad that day so was I
That was my uncle too nigga so how wrong was I
Trying to hold back tears yo the fact is
I was at that awkward age thought I was too grown to cry
But my eyes wasn’t close to dry
Going through ups and downs the ebb and flow
Trying to pick myself off the F’n floor
Take the letter F from flow feeling extra low
Hope is miles away I got steps to go, stressed I know
I feel like the Evans kids trying to have good times after James left the show
And the death of [?] I’m worth less in America like I’m currency from Mexico
And I got the kind of woman niggas wish to purpose to
Baby girl I’m just trying to get us rich like I told you
Spittin’ these vocals
But I can’t afford to give you shit that I owe this ain’t how shit is suppose to be and she the type that niggas hold on to
So look this ain’t my official proposal but
Teresa Davids will you marry a nigga you’ve been there for a nigga with the shit that I go through

[Hook] (x2)
Yo I need some stress relief
Stressed the fuck out need the stress relieved
I been going through a lot I’m still going through it
I’m running from my trouble like refugees
Best believe nigga I ain’t never giving up
Nah I’ll never give a fuck
But it seems like life ain’t never been as tough
I’m stressed I’m just telling y’all wassup

[Verse 2: Demetrius]
Yo sex’ll be my stress relief especially when it’s with she
Who brings out the best of me
You ever seen everything you ever need in one person that’s her she was there for me
It ain’t even sex, it’s ecstasy If she was my ex she’d rep for me
Yea she’d rep the team she never need a wedding ring
That’s why I wanna die making love so I can love her ’till we rest in peace
Yes indeed it’s so hard living but a nigga go hard and she go hard with him
Had to bogart women just to get to her it’s so far
She my co star hope it’s no hard feelings ladies
I was in the cold dark sittin’ and she took a nigga in
And then we both start winnin’ and the cold part
Is when I’m in her ocean a nigga wanna cry
That’s why I’m finna go hard in it baby
Maybe I’m an asshole cause lately I been angry on the daily
And I’m half going crazy but my lady saying "wait
Let’s go half on a baby"
She my hero she put her mask on and saved me
Cause I’m a shady nigga I should be signed to Shady nigga
Being that cold made me what I am but my lady she my backbone ain’t she
Ain’t when I’m up in her my nigga that don’t phase me

[Hook] (x2)
Yo I need some stress relief
Stressed the fuck out need the stress relieved
I been going through a lot I’m still going through it
I’m running from my trouble like refugees
Best believe nigga I ain’t never giving up
Nah I’ll never give a fuck
But it seems like life ain’t never been as tough
I’m stressed I’m just telling y’all wassup

[Verse 3: Dice]
Yo I need some stress relief
Stressed the fuck out need my stress relieved
I been searching for a meal not enough doe
Feeling too salty a fucked up recipe
Trying to win for my niggas rest in peace
I want a comfortable lead like [?]
Yeah my family the best of me, give the industry the rest of me
So what’s left of me?
Something infecting me a disease that I’m trying to fight
It ain’t HIV but a lot like it it’s the HIP Hop virus
With no money to treat it you can die by it
I got shit to do, got kids at home need tending to
Can’t pay attention to the hate gotta steer straight
On this rough road hands at 10 and 2
Feeling too lost got things on my mind yo
Should I sell to the fiends that like dope
Or should I sell to the fiends that like dope music
Will I make green with this mic yo?
Or will I make green in the night putting heat to the white
In this pot over my stove
I’m too stressed I can’t call it
Fuck a cell phone I’m trying to keep my self on this tight rope

[Hook] (x2)
Yo I need some stress relief
Stressed the fuck out need the stress relieved
I been going through a lot I’m still going through it
I’m running from my trouble like refugees
Best believe nigga I ain’t never giving up
Nah I’ll never give a fuck
But it seems like life ain’t never been as tough
I’m stressed I’m just telling y’all wassup

[Verse 4: Kenny]
Living a life that’ll test your patience
Ever walk home at night and see the helicopter flashing
His light on your destination
Then having ambulance fly by at an aggressive pace then
Now your mind heart and feet all get to racing
Hoping that the child you left at home is safe and
Thinking if not somebody’s going to become a medics patient
Where I’m from being about the life is a requirement
So I can’t help it if I’m a product of my environment
They’ll either have to feel me or kill me
‘Till then I’mma remain the real me
Life’s pain got me asking God to heal me
Plus doing dirt ‘Till the day a nigga filthy
Slow or fast I’m gon’ progress
Because slow progress is better then no progress
But to keep shit off my mind
I’m high at all times call it an all time high
Been doing a lot of green blowing lately
To escape the fact that I feel I’m going crazy
In the mirror talking for an hour long to face me
Reflection I’m feeling high but I’m feeling low as can be
Shit I need some stress relief
Fuck it light another best believe
No [?] no seeds no sesames
Hope I open my mind ,get it? Open sesame

[Hook] (x2)
Yo I need some stress relief
Stressed the fuck out need the stress relieved
I been going through a lot I’m still going through it
I’m running from my trouble like refugees
Best believe nigga I ain’t never giving up
Nah I’ll never give a fuck
But it seems like life ain’t never been as tough
I’m stressed I’m just telling y’all wassup

Murs – Rick Grimes Is Dead letras

[Intro: Noa James]
So I used to be a security, right, at this Travel America
We found a dead body in the, in the truck
It was a prostitute in the back
I had to get her out right?
But when I was trying to get her out
She telling me she was gonna’ spit on me
I’m like ‘Why is she telling me this shit?’
People are telling me she got HIV
I’m like ‘She trying to get me HIV?’
I’m like ‘Why, why she trying to give me HIV?
Don’t spit on me’

[Verse 1: MURS]
Brains on the sidewalk homicide
Nothing but that yellow tape, white chalk
It’s my fault, I’m a motherfucking psychopath
In my defense though, I never really liked his ass
He tried to smash on me, touching on my chain bro
Put his hands on me so I handed him his halo
Halo, ayo, halo, he thought it was a game bro
Midtown, Master Chief, city of the angels

[Hook: MURS]
I shot the sheriff, I shot the, I shot the sheriff
I shot the sheriff, I shot the, I shot the sheriff
I shot the sheriff, I shot the, I shot the sheriff
I shot the sheriff and the motherfucking deputy
I shot the sheriff, I shot the sheriff
I shot the sheriff, sheriff, sheriff, sheriff, I shot the sheriff
I shot the sheriff, I shot the, I shot the sheriff
I shot the sheriff and the motherfucking deputy
Body rock, body rock, I can make your body rock
Ain’t nobody ever killed a zombie with a body shot
Body rock, body rock, I can make your body rock
Ain’t nobody ever killed a zombie with a body shot
Body rock, body rock, I can make your body rock
Ain’t nobody ever killed a zombie with a body shot
Body rock, body rock, I can make your body rock
Ain’t nobody ever killed a zombie with a body shot

[Verse 2: MURS]
I brought pay dues back bitch
They never thought they see an indie nigga that rich
So they hated on me, but now I’m back again
I swear to God, let’s pray they never be that whack again
We ’bout to pack it in, we might could sell it
Budweiser let the city kick the Devil out
What they was yellin’ out, that ain’t no pay dues
The city love me ’cause they know that I’m a stay true
You niggas bit my shit, they tried to copy on me
Seen the headliner and the fly shit, it’s sloppy homie
Got the little homies actin’ like they don’t know me
I put em on but they still ain’t paid me what they owe me
It’s time to collect, the time for conversation passed
I pulled up and pulled out and started talkin’ fast
Thought he was bulletproof just because he got some cash
It was either shoot em or salute em so I shot his ass

[Hook:MURS]
