Why do we like this?

“Happiness is the kindness of others.”

I remember reading the above quote some time ago and it has stuck with me ever since. EREZ’s “Dance It Away” brings it to mind as they have written it for a person they love, with the hopes of relieving said-person from suffering.

Sometimes, in the depths of deep discomfort, a shake, a dance, some swaying, and abandon can relieve one from the tightness of it all. This is what “Dance It Away” speaks to.

It’s an honest track that’s not shy of ‘soul’, influenced by the artist’s love of dancing late into the night. There’s a deep sexiness to it too, as one pictures the crowd undulating in unison on a vibrating dancefloor alive with the promise of an unending night.

EREZ is an NYC born, Israeli-raised, and now L.A. based artist who self-produces her music so as not to rely on anyone to create (brava!)…and they do so with a love and passion that any keen ear would be able to hear in tracks such as “Dance It Away.”

Macklemore – Fake ID lyrics

[Intro]
Ladies and gentleman, my name is Macklemore. This is my music, and it feels so damn good right about now. Check it, I got a story, yo, it goes a little something like

[Verse 1]
When I was seventeen I was staying in NYC
And my homie told me where I could get a fake ID
“Ayo, son, you better get that shit when you in NY” (okay)
So I hopped on the subway and I gave it a try
To my pleasant surprise the ID looked fine
5’9″, blues eyes, born in ninteen-seventy-nine
Nervous as hell, I went to the store with my homie
Came out and yelled “Dawg, they sold me a 40”
Yeah, you know that I was the man
Buying the contraband with a fake ass hologram
No more looking for bums, standing in the rain
Stranded on Broadway and giving ’em all my change
For the rest of the summer man I was on fades
Seventeen, had it made, getting drunk everyday
Ayy, I got treated a whole new way
Because of a piece of plastic that proved I was of age

[Interlude]
You know what I’m saying, all of a sudden you get this little piece of plastic and you’re in the club. Seventeen like bah! Check it out, it’s like this, yo

[Verse 2]
Now for the next three years I had so much fun
Getting drunk in hip-hop clubs where you had to be twenty-one
Then one day I was walking and I saw a sign
That said KRS-One twenty-one up and live
That’s hella tight
Ayo I heard he always ripped it
So I hopped up in my Civic and went out to buy a ticket
When I got up the the door the bouncer checking ID’s
Looks at mine and he’s like “Nah, we don’t take these”
I tried to reach and grab my shit back
But the mother fucker was tougher than Shaq, on crack
I should of punched him, but I would have reached his knee cap
And that probably wouldn’t have hurt him very much
He kept laughing and smilin’, he called me a dumb shit
And if I would of let myself I would have cried in public
Oh no, I’m like “Give it back, bro!”
But no, my ID was jacked by the Caucasian Deebo

[Bridge]
Ha I’m laughing right now but at the time it really was not funny and it’s still not very funny. Fucker

[Verse 3]
Bitch why you got to take my ID?
Why do I have to be 21 to drink a Long Island Iced Tea?
I hate bouncers with their bald heads and ten foot tall legs
And shirts that they outgrew when they were like ten
*Get ’em*
Your mother is dumb for having you
You’re a bouncer because you have a small dick and as a kid everyone laughed at you
*Get ’em*
You’re too big and you never seemed to listen
You look injected with the shit they give to KFC chickens
*Get ’em*
I don’t like ya, at all I despise you
If I was tall I would fight you
If I was a dog I would bite you
Every single day you make people cry
And your job is to go and ruin teenager’s lives
Ok I’m going too far bouncers aren’t all bad
I’m sure they make great husbands and really strong dads
But hopefully you learned a lesson from me
Never take an MC’s fake ID
Yup, I said never take an MC’s fake ID
You could be buff and tough, it don’t matter to me
Cause you’re going to get burned if you step to MCs

Cardi B – Hectic lyrics

(feat. DJ Hardwerk)

[Intro]
Cardi
Hard work

[Verse 1]
Ayo, step up in the spot, you know who I be
Couple bottles pop in the VIP
Dancin’ all up on the couch, shakin’ my ass
Probably leave with ya man, grand larceny
Bitch, pardon me, you don’t wanna start with me
I be out here gettin’ cash, you be in the thottery
I be in the trap, chasin’ chips like the lottery
You ain’t bout that life, you don’t be like Cardi B
All my gettin’-shmoney hoes, put ya hands up
Yeah, you cute but you gon’ have to pull ya pants up, yeah
I see you over there checkin’ out my thick thighs, tetas
See, I gotta smart mouth and what?
Keep it litty for my city, NYC
Take the whole nut, ain’t worried ’bout no Plan B
Yeah, I’m nasty, lick my lips, blow a kiss
And walk off with a hunnid thou’ on my wrist
Swish, I ain’t with the politics
“A hoe never gets cold,” you know what the motto is
Unless it’s baguettes diamond cuts, gold bottles, bitch
Sittin’ in that 6, frostbite, feelin’ hella lit

[Hook]
Hectic, hectic
When I pull up it gets hectic, hectic
Don’t worry ’bout what’s on my left wrist, it cost a check, bitch
If I’m in the spot, I’m slayin’ shit, I’m in the best fit
Hectic, hectic
When I pull up it gets hectic, hectic
Don’t worry ’bout what’s on my left wrist, it cost a check, bitch
If I’m in the spot, I’m slayin’ shit, I’m in the best fit

[Verse 2]
NY, do or die, yeah I got this
KSR, chill y’all, yeah I got this
40 those, 2 seater in the cockpit
And I’m a freak so you know that bitch topless
You a hot mess, that’s a fact though
Understood the life, bitch, you know how that go
A lot of thots out here plottin’ on my cash flow
But I’m a queen just tryna build the castle
You a fiend, you all up in my asshole
I cause a scene and give you what you ask for
Hair did, manicure, so ready, check
Attitude have to be so petty, yep
I’m in it this year, a minute to spare, I swear
My vision is clear, y’all bitches beware, I’m here
Showstopper, Ms. Life of the party, yeah
Top shotta, no filter, Young Cardi, yeah

Dave East – The Hated (feat. Nas) (Short Film)

We gotta get it
They hated Esco
They hated Escobar
I’m still here
Dave East talk that talk
Streets need that
NYC, L.A., Chicago, Detroit, the whole world
Lets get it
I had a basic plan, get out the projects and never look back
Could still smell the aroma from when my uncle would cook crack
One conversation between homies, better yet brothers
That used to spend the night with each other
They moms was best friends
One name was Anthony, the hood called ’em Ant Live
Kept his pistol on ’em, so he bought a bigger pant size
He got a little colder the moment he watched his man die
That was ten years ago
Baby-face, wishing that his beard would grow
Now he throw a set up anywhere he go
He just a product of his environment
Told me he’d rather die than ever go to Rikers again
Did a bid, his celly was blood, he studied five percent
Came home, like let niggas see me, I’ll never ride with tint
Cory was his right-hand man, his mother up North
She was busting checks with the wrong nigga
He popped Xannys and he just want him some strong liquor
Lose the attitude, he miserable
For years he tried to get a lick or two
Moms begging he finish school, but non-sense he get into
Ant’ met Cory when they was kids with innocence
Ant’ hated his dad around ’cause that nigga was militant
Cory found a hoe to pass, some cash, they could triple it
Double it, stack it up, Cory ain’t never want to spend
Ant’ was blowing money fast, big Meeching when he shopped
Flashy nigga, body wrapped in diamonds, necklace, and the watch
They hated Jesus, hated Malcolm, hated Martin
(They gon’ hate) Eight niggas living in a two-bedroom apartment
No lights up in the crib, I guess I came up out the darkness
Mood change when I spark it, new Range, now I park it
They hated Jesus, hated Malcolm, hated Martin
(They gon’ hate) Eight niggas living in a two-bedroom apartment
No lights up in the crib, I guess I came up out the darkness
Mood change when I spark it, new Range, now I park it
Ant’ and Cory set up a trap, fiends in and out of that
No mask, stocking cap, they robbed him, but he got it back
Six in the morning with baggies on him was a way of life
Streets will teach you quick, ain’t nothing free, pay the price
Eviction notice in the kitchen, your bitch will stay the night
Cory had the sour with him, Ant’ fuck with ‘yola
Got kicked out his moms crib, she found a couple boulders
Locked up with killers up North, he rubbed a couple shoulders
Cory told Ant’ on the V I the block was changing
Ant’ told Cory be grateful, freedoms’ amazing
Three and half light bid, Ant’ stayed in drama
He was light skinned, outside before you niggas was typing
No MySpace
Cory and Ant’ had butter rockin’
The other younger niggas from the block, just loved to watch him
Couple haters, but nothing major, they knew the streets
Niggas caught Cory, made him take off that new Philippe
Cory took it on the chin, he wasn’t new to beef
Killers kill you for talking, all you gotta do is speak
Thats a man down, Ant’ told Cory have the fam ’round
And keep on shitting on niggas until your pants brown
They hustle low, so much evidence that can’t found
Cory got nervous whenever they spun that Van ’round
They snatched him and he talked about the way he got it
Broke the code, that was snitchin’, it ain’t no way around it
They hated Jesus, hated Malcolm, hated Martin
(They gon’ hate) Eight niggas living in a two-bedroom apartment
No lights up in the crib, I guess I came up out the darkness
Mood change when I spark it, new Range, now I park it
They hated Jesus, hated Malcolm, hated Martin
(They gon’ hate) Eight niggas living in a two-bedroom apartment
No lights up in the crib, I guess I came up out the darkness
Mood change when I spark it, new Range, now I park it
Ayo’ East
It’s your man, Nas Esco’
Keep doin’ what you do
Peace be on to you my young brother

It’s a yacht for the boat private jets to Ohio
So the kids that talk shit can see my life a TV show
And it’s everyday bro, and y’all know the house cost seven, man
And you know I just ain’t rentin’
And I be in the Aussie, eating shrimp on the barbie
All my exes look like Barbie and I pull up in the ‘Rari like
Bling, blow! Oopsie, I just told them the truth (my bad!)
And I just dropped some new merch
And it’s still really selling like a fucking God Church!

[Chorus: Jake Paul]
It’s everyday, bro
It’s everyday, bro
It’s everyday, bro (it’s Gucci!)
I said, it’s everyday, bro!

[Verse 2: Gucci Mane]
Every day I wake up and get it, that’s just me

They rappin’ bout that Pirus but don’t know how to use it (skrrt!)
In 1997, I would pull up in a Buick (huh?)
Now, every day, I’m changing cars, it’s kinda gettin’ confusing (damn)
Every day, my lady make me stand up like I pushed it (woah)
And every day, the paparazzi put me in the news clip (uh)
And every day, I try not hit nobody with the full clip

[Chorus: Jake Paul]
It’s everyday, bro (hey)

Meek Mill Scores Legal Victory In Assault Case Dismissed

Meek Mill scored his second legal victory this month after getting his airport assault case dismissed.

This is the second W for the Philly rapper in October in the courts. Earlier this month, he struck a deal in a traffic case in New York City which sees him walking away with just community service. Back in March of this year, he was slapped with a misdemeanor assault charge in St. Louis after getting into an altercation with a fan who claimed that he just wanted to take a picture with the rapper.

Just like his NYC traffic case, Meek Mill struck a deal with prosecutors which will see him doing some more community service, TMZ reported. His high profile lawyer, Joe Tacopina, confirmed the news yesterday. For the traffic case, Meek will have that record wiped clean from his name, as part of the deal he struck.

The Dreamchaser rapper is looking to put all of his legal troubles behind him so he can clean up his image to attract more corporate deals, or perhaps he just doesn’t want them hanging over his head. Meek Mill is currently working on some new music but he has yet to announced any new albums or mixtapes.

Meek Mill Avoids Jail Time Cops Deal In NYC Traffic Case

Meek Mill avoids jail time in his New York City traffic case.

In August, Meek Mill was arrested in NYC for reckless endangerment after cops say he was spotted stunting on his dirt bikes in the street with his crew. The Philly rapper live streamed his running with law enforcement officials who arrested him on the spot. Cops say they found a video on social media showing the emcee and his crew doing wheelies and weaving in and out of traffic.

Meek denied the whole thing, but it turns out that there was some truth to what the cops were saying. TMZ reported, that the MMG rapper copped a plea deal with the DA’s office which will see the arrest wiped clean off his record if he can stay at least six months without more issues with law enforcement. He will also have to do 30 hours of community service and he already clocks 20 so he is moving pretty fast to get this latest escapade behind him.

Meek Mill was shooting a video at the time when he got caught doing wheelies on the streets of NYC. He was charged with a felony which could have given him some jail time.

Sleepless in NYC – Autograf lyrics

Lyrics Autograf – Sleepless in NYC

Could I stand by, while we watched it fall
Fortunes are fading, do we hit the wall
So stay right next to me
Versuri-lyrics.info
‘Cause your body’s all I need
Maybe we’re not what we were before
Strangers passing, all for starters now
There’s nothing left to hold
And the night is all I know.(sleepless in nyc)

Getting high ’til the sun goes down
Lift my head and I leave the ground
I know I said that I need this town
I need you back, wrap it up did the best of me
Neon lights come and set me free
Close my eyes and I know I’ll be.

Sleepless in Nyc, City, City. (x4)

If I could try getting you alone
You could remember that I feel like home
But I can’t sleep and the night is all I see.

Getting high ’til the sun goes down
Lift my head and I leave the ground
I know I said that I need this town
I need you back, wrap it up did the best of me
Neon lights come and set me free
Close my eyes and I know I’ll be.

Sleepless in New York City, City, Cityyy. (x4)

NYC, L.A., Chicago, Detroit, the whole world
Lets get it

[Verse 1: Dave East]
Cory found a holder pass, some cash, they could triple it
Double it, stack it up, Cory ain’t never want to spend
Ant’ was blowing money fast, big Meeching when he shopped
Flashy nigga, body wrapped in diamonds, necklace, and the watch

[Hook: Dave East]
They hated Jesus, hated Malcolm, hated Martin
(They gon’ hate) eight niggas living in a two-bedroom apartment
No lights up in the crib, I guess I came up out the darkness
Mood change when I spark it, new Range, now I park it
They hated Jesus, hated Malcolm, hated Martin
(They gon’ hate) eight niggas living in a two-bedroom apartment
No lights up in the crib, I guess I came up out the darkness
Mood change when I spark it, new Range, now I park it

[Verse 2: Dave East]
The other younger niggas from the block, just loved to watch him
Couple hate us, but nothing major, they knew the streets
Niggas caught Cory, made him take off that new Philippe
Cory took it on the chin, he wasn’t new to beef
Killers kill you for talking, all you gotta do is speak
Thats a man down, Ant’ told Cory have the fam ’round
And keep on shitting on niggas until your pants brown
They hustle low, so much evidence that [?] found
Cory got nervous whenever they spun that Van ’round
They snatched him and talked about the way he got it
Broke the code, that was snitchin’, it ain’t no way around it

[Hook]
They hated Jesus, hated Malcolm, hated Martin
(They gon’ hate) eight niggas living in a two-bedroom apartment
No lights up in the crib, I guess I came up out the darkness
Mood change when I spark it, new Range, now I park it
They hated Jesus, hated Malcolm, hated Martin
(They gon’ hate) eight niggas living in a two-bedroom apartment
No lights up in the crib, I guess I came up out the darkness
Mood change when I spark it, new Range, now I park it

[Outro: Nas]
Ayo’ East
It’s your man, Nas Esco’
Keep doin’ what you do
Peace be on to you my young brother

Meek Mill Reacts To Arrest Claims Cops Profiled & Targeted Him

Meek Mill has reacted to his recent arrest in New York City for disturbing the peace and reckless endangerment.

Cops pulled over the Dreamchaser rapper last Thursday night for allegedly stunting with his crew on motorcycles without helmets. Sources say around five squad cars pulled up on the rapper where one cop questioned him before putting him in handcuff and arrested him. Apparently, Meek Mill was shooting a music video in Harlem and was doing wheelies with his crew all while cops looked on.

The next morning Meek Mill walked free and was only charged with two misdemeanors despite originally looking at at least a felony charge which could land him in jail for some time. Sources around the Philly rapper told DHH that he felt like he was racially profiled and targeted by the cops who tried to pin charges on him. “The whole thing just like like racial profiling to us because why so many police officers had to create a huge scene just to pull over one man who was not even armed,” sources told us. “Then they let this man (Meek Mill) sleep in jail and couldn’t even find anything to charge him with and then tried to pin two misdemeanors on him. The law enforcement system is rigged against black men, but fortunately Meek can afford a decent attorney. What happened to the vast majority who don’t have the means of getting themselves a good lawyer.”

In a press conference with his attorney in NYC, Meek Mill says that he is a family man who is hard-working, The “1942 Flow” rapper also maintained his innocence saying he did nothing wrong. Meek has had a number of legal troubles over the past few years including last year when he was placed on house arrest for three months. His latest running with lawmen won’t see him getting any jail time, but will surely remind him of his many legal woes.

Took the business class seats back to NYC
Left LAX with a bag of the THC
Straight reekin’
Nowadays I bounce back in full each weekend
Shorter days, longer nights, from my lack of sleepin’
Thinkin’ when this bi-coastal life is just dreams and
Now a nigga headed west the cold seasons
Wrist below freezin’, chicks is strip teasin’
They only suck a nigga when a nigga succeedin’
If she a go-getter then she never will achieve ’em
Best believe, ’cause all I do is f**kin’ lead ’em
Off in the right direction, teacher lent me lessons
Reduce the stress and balance out the imperfections
Hundred folded in my lap like many blessings
Every night ‘fore I take the chance, I ask questions
Somethin’ like, can you meet me at the Westin?
And after I f**k you, girl can I f**k your best friend?
f**k it, I’m just shootin’ all my shots now
Hard to be humble, when you ridin’ with your top down
Picture me rollin’ up in my SL500 Benz
Mami sip on the potion while her hair blowin’ in the wind
I’m just tryna win but they hatin’ from the sideline
These niggas watch mine like a nigga primetime
I’m ten thousand feet right above your skyline
Sippin’ on the fine wine, the only thing on my mind

500 Benz, AMG package
’95 classic, rare Gucci jacket
With the Cartier glasses, just to match it

So anytime I’m pullin’ off, it’s getaway fashion
Coppers’ll never catch him, I got hustler’s passion
Chick in my passenger seat, she lookin’ like she came out the pageant
And he down for anything that I ask or imagine
So I hit the corner store and copped a pack of the Magnums, shit
‘Cause I ain’t playin’ no games
Lil R&B chick and I ain’t sayin’ no names
Let her rock the mic and give a nigga soul brain
By the time this shit drops she’ll prolly be my old thang
I’m just young and livin’, pullin’ many women
If you was in my shoes, I bet you couldn’t say you wouldn’t
Been in the deep end since I got my foot in
Now these niggas wanna ride the wave all of a sudden

SL500 Benz with the AMG package
And the rare Gucci jacket, Cartier glasses, just to match it
Cartier glasses, just to match it

Grouplove – Don’t Stop Making It Happen

Take it back to Saturday
I was in a k-hole
Laying out in the pouring rain
On and on and on, oh no
I could take the sky away
Put it in a payphone
Calling out all my mistakes
‘Cause you don’t know, you don’t know

Don’t stop making it happen
‘Cause you’re the only one for..
Don’t stop making it happen
‘Cause you’re the only one for..
Don’t stop making it happen
I can’t take it no more
Don’t stop making it happen
‘Cause you’re the only one for..

You’re the one who got away
And I just can’t let go
How my mind keeps playing games
Dropping in before I drop out
Something ’bout that love we made
Put it in a payphone
Called you up, just had to say that
You don’t know, you don’t know

Don’t stop making it happen
‘Cause you’re the only one for..
Don’t stop making it happen
‘Cause you’re the only one for..
Don’t stop making it happen
I can’t take it no more
Don’t stop making it happen
‘Cause you’re the only one for..

All the boys come follow me
Come follow me from NYC
And all the girls on the internet
In your private jet, yeah getting wet
All the boys come follow me
Come follow me from NYC
And all the girls on the internet
Yeah getting wet, getting wet

Don’t stop making it happen
‘Cause you’re the only one for..
Don’t stop making it happen
‘Cause you’re the only one for..
Don’t stop making it happen
I can’t take it no more
Don’t stop making it happen
‘Cause you’re the only one for me

Don’t stop making it happen
I can’t take it no more
Don’t stop making it happen
‘Cause you’re the only one for me

Miranda Lambert – Six Degrees Of Seperation lyrics

[Verse 1]
Thought that I was safe down in New Orleans
’Til I picked up a quarter from 1979
Stuck it in the back pocket of these jeans
Worn in boyfriend button down Levis
In the saints town I can’t seem to figure out
How to get around, but I ain’t moving on
Threw the quarter in an old street case
And I’ll be damned, he started playing our song

[Chorus]
Six degrees of separation
You’re all over this damn nation
But I’m out of your reach geographically
But you still find a way to get a hold on me
And it’s six degrees of separation

[Verse 2]
Hailed a cab up in NYC
Saw an ad for a litigation lawyer on a bus stop bench
Sitting waiting for the red light to turn green
Smoke-breakers flirting on the steps of Merrill Lynch
Hit the Roosevelt, took it to the 12th
Got a funny feeling as I put my key in the door
Never seen the likes of these city lofts
I swear to god, son I’ve been here before

[Chorus]
Six degrees of separation
You’re all over this damn nation
I’m out of your reach geographically
You still find a way to get a hold on me
And it’s six degrees of separation

Well, it’s six degrees of separation
Yeah, it’s six degrees of separation

[Outro]
Thought that I was safe down in New Orleans
’Til I picked up a quarter from 1979

A Tribe Called Quest – Dis Generation Lyrics

[Verse 1: Q-Tip, Busta Rhymes, Jarobi, & Phife]
In the box with the capital G, balling the beat
Status, Chris Paul and John Wall in the league
Grabbin’ mics till the knuckles’ll bleed, ’cause I believe
The potent and the quote will have ya geek like speed
If rationale is naturale, then we’ll weave
It’s all edges and peaks
Settin’ picks, we on a permanent steez
I’m in a world where my princess is Leia
And she feeling my Vader
And my lure grows greater and greater
Chemtrails droppin’ poisonous vapors
Had to shake her like gator
Been trill, nigga, process the data
Blu-ray wave follow a beta, I’ll DVR for later
Cop a [?] with a [?]
You can’t define us, XYZ-Z, it’s the generation
Elitists have you cheatin’, virtual think pieces
See, these written words provided by science, brains defying
Thoughts heavy, baby, they’re a major appliance
Leave a [?] flyest [?] through a giant
Dude’s nice, he tight, screwed in with some pliers
Cool with some bias, yeah, nigga, cool with some brothers
Never know tattletales, only ya’ll don’t know us
Yeah, show me, generation, show us what you gon’ show us
So listen, mami, [?]
Mouthpiece like [?] with a jubilant noise
Dude’s rude and it’s useless as coin, shoot ’em boys
Versed and rehearsed in the soothing of loins
Talk to Joey, Earl, Kendrick, and Cole, gatekeepers of flow
They are extensions of instinctual soul
It’s the highest in commodity grade and you could get it today

[Chorus]
Dis generation
Dis generation
Dis generation
Dis generation
Dis generation
Dis generation
Rules the nation

[Verse 2: Q-Tip, Busta Rhymes, Jarobi, & Phife]
One hit and readin’ pages of Poe
Telly is low, Cuddlebunny ready to go
Day of the dead, bury all the zombies instead
And it’s just your aftermath, Busta cuttin’ your dreads
Bruce Leein’ niggas, while you niggas UFC
Smoke tree on niggas, sizzle out your USB
Surge pricing on these Ubers, I’mma get me a cab
Yo, where Jarobi at?
I’m vibing on impeccable grass
I be in NYC waiting for that law to pass
[?] been waiting for a Jets title since last
Picture Todd-Todd Bowles, Gang Green on that ass
Magic Mike on the mic, David Blane, Douglas Henning
In the church of Busta Rhymes it’s my sermon you’re getting
Horizontal spittin’, I’m the exorcist of your writtens
Don’t interrupt me, nigga
Sorry, that’s a sin I’m forgiving
Like how we be skipping on beats like cooking crack in the kitchen
W-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-wait
Nah, just out the package, dry and bag up the wet
This mad city’s not a game, easy, quiet on set
Phife, student of the past, trailblazing the day
Now they knowledge’in and tryin’ ta swept up in a phase
It’s the highest of commodity grade and you could get it-get it-get it-get it today

[Chorus]
Dis generation
Dis generation
Dis generation
Dis generation
Dis generation
Dis generation
Rules the nation

[Outro]
This is our generation, generation, ah
This our generation, generation, ah
This our generation, generation, ah
