Leading researcher at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, political scientist Sergey Fedorov told NEWS.ru that France will not stop adhering to the tactics of tough dialogue and sanctions pressure on Russia against the background of the events in Ukraine.

According to Fedorov, Macron, after being re-elected, will continue to adhere to his policy, which is based on two fundamental positions. The political scientist explained that the French president sees the need to continue the dialogue with Russia, despite the existing contradictions and confrontation related to what is happening in Ukraine.

In addition, the expert believes that a tough dialogue will also be supported by sanctions policy, while while France continues to pump weapons to Ukraine. According to Fedorov, one should not hope for a weakening of this policy on the French side. The political scientist concluded that the combination of dialogue with pressure on Russia, the purpose of which is to force the Russian Federation to change its policy, will continue.
