The European Union, together with the United States, is preparing a new package of sanctions against the official Minsk, said the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. Sanctions against the Belarusian authorities may be expanded early next week, she said at a press conference after meeting with US President Joe Biden.
The United States, she said, has also prepared new sanctions against Belarus: they may be imposed in early December.
According to Bloomberg's interlocutors, the sanctions may be for airlines that assist in the transportation of migrants to Belarus, as well as the insurance sector of Belarus. In the case of airlines, there is still debate on whether to impose sanctions on existing contracts, or to restrict their conclusion in the future.
