Yum Yuck goes into the vast ocean of our minds, rides the gentle wave of indie rock, and surfs over all the memories that we hid away.
There’s something cathartic about having a song go to those places that you want to forget: the breakups, the tears, the sad joy of having had that person. The song lends a flashlight and lets you take it all in, nurturing us with the sentiment, ‘be careful but it’s going to be okay.’
Yum Yuck has done exactly what I want from every sonic experience — catharsis through joy — and they have done it so so well.
